Two years after their last appearance on this legendary stage, Ambondrona returns to the Coliseum Antsonjombe. Scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, starting at 3 PM, the concert titled “Ambondrona – 25 taona isika, Ivony” is part of the group’s 25th-anniversary celebration, which began in March at La City and is set to continue until 2027.
For this special occasion, the group has chosen to rethink the stage space. The stage will be set up in the center of the Coliseum, giving the event its name, “Ivony,” which specifically means the center or the middle. “The concert is called Ivony because the stage will be in the middle, at the center of the Coliseum,” explains Beranto, the group’s lead composer and guitarist.
Rehearsals have been ongoing for several weeks in the studio to prepare for this major event. For nearly three hours, Ambondrona intends to retrace its musical journey, from its first tracks to its most recent creations. The audience will rediscover several titles that have marked the different stages of the group’s history, up to “Toa Krismasy,” a single released in December 2025. Written and composed by Beranto, this track touches on nostalgia, distance, and the need to maintain bonds with loved ones, particularly through video calls, during festive periods as well as difficult times.
However, this 25th-anniversary celebration is not limited to Antananarivo. Ambondrona has already taken this tour to several regions, notably Fianarantsoa, Mahajanga, and Antsirabe.
After a 25-year journey, Ambondrona is banking on sharing and musical memory to reconnect with its audience at the Coliseum. It is an event that aims to bring together different generations around the songs that have shaped the group’s history.
