MMA: Tsinjo Rakotomaria Triumphs in Nairobi

A remarkable continental achievement. Multiple Madagascar jiu-jitsu champion Tsinjo Nomenjanahary Rakotomaria, known as “Gou,” secured a brilliant victory at the ANZA Mixed Martial Arts Pro Fight in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday evening.

Competing in the lightweight category, the One Tribe club jiu-jitsu practitioner—who is a two-time national champion of the 4th Madagascar Jiu-Jitsu Grand Open in the under-85kg and Absolute categories, as well as a coach for the Malagasy Top Team—defeated Ugandan fighter Mukibi without hesitation. He secured the win via submission with a rear-naked choke in the very first round.

The professional fight night featured eight international bouts, bringing together sixteen elite fighters from six African nations: Kenya, Angola, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Madagascar.
