New measures will be implemented on the Alasora By-pass. Starting Monday, September 21, carts, horse-drawn carriages, and bicycle taxis will no longer be permitted to use this route or its slip roads located within the commune. This decision was reached during a meeting held on Friday morning at the Amoronakona bus station.
These provisions are part of the reorganization of transport around the Amoronakona bus station. They aim to reduce bottlenecks and facilitate traffic flow on this heavily frequented axis.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Alasora commune, the Ministry of Transport, the Land Transport Agency (ATT), law enforcement, the bus station concessionaire, and the municipal police. Traffic fluidity and road safety were at the heart of the discussions.
The clearing of the By-pass surroundings will also continue. Merchants and residents located along the axis are urged not to encroach on the roadway. Cleaning and clearing operations were already carried out on Friday.
In the event of traffic congestion, bush taxis (taxis-brousse) may be diverted to the RN58B, towards Ankadindratombo. Certain bus stops located on the By-pass and South Ambohipo will also be relocated to minimize disruptions.
