A successful start. Al Merrikh SC, the Sudanese club featuring Barea Chan players Fenohasina Gilles Razafimaro, Nicolas Randriamanampisoa, and Mika “Gregas” Razafimahanta, has secured its ticket to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Sudanese club, which has been playing in Rwanda in recent years, eliminated the Zambian side Power Dynamos with a 2-0 aggregate score at the end of the first preliminary round. The team of former Ajesaia striker Fenohasina won 1-0 in the first leg, played at home in Rwanda on September 6. They confirmed their qualification on Saturday by securing a second victory with the same score at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Nicolas and Feno were in the starting eleven for both the first and second legs, while new recruit Gregas remained on the substitutes’ bench.
