More than forty-three lots of goods held in customs storage will be auctioned from September 21 to 25 at the Mahajanga Customs office.
The goods are currently stored in warehouses under the jurisdiction of the Mahajanga Customs office, specifically at Comama, DCC, and SEMS.
The detailed list of lots, their starting prices, and participation conditions are available on the Customs administration’s website.
The Mahajanga Customs Receiver, Russel Gérald Biankinana, guarantees that transparency will be maintained throughout the operation. He stated that the Mahajanga BIANCO (Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau) will oversee the auction, which will be conducted via sealed bids.
Bidders must deposit a 10% down payment of the starting price via a bank check made out to the Customs Receiver. They must also obtain and complete an auction form from the auctioneer and submit it along with the payment receipt and a copy of their national identity card.
The auction will span five days starting September 21. The first few days are dedicated to viewing the lots and submitting bids. The submission period closes on the third day, and the opening of bids by the ad hoc commission will take place on the fourth day at 8:30 AM, followed by the announcement of the winners.
The items up for auction include vehicles from brands such as BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes, Opel Frontera, and Range Rover, as well as various goods including baby clothes, donated medical equipment, milk, and vehicle spare parts.
