FOOTBALL – EUROPE – Mathieu Acapiandie to play in the Conference League

The 21-year-old Barea right-back, Mathieu Acapiandie, who stands 1.82m tall, will compete in the European Conference League with his Croatian club, HNK Hajduk Split. The Croatian team is among the thirty-six clubs qualified for this European tournament, which kicks off on October 15.

Acapiandie’s club, a six-time national champion, eight-time Cup winner, and five-time Super Cup holder, will face Ajax Amsterdam on the first matchday. The competition consists of six matchdays, followed by play-offs before proceeding to the round of 16.

Before joining the Croatian league, Mathieu Acapiandie played for FC Nantes from 2022 to 2026, primarily with the reserve team. Previously, he was part of the French club’s youth teams from 2019 to 2022. Born in Reunion, he began his football training at the Saint-Pierre football school.
