30 years of career, and still the same connection with his audience. This Sunday, August 30, Antsahamanitra was once again sold out to welcome Samoëla and his fans. With “Tsy Tontan’ny Ela,” organized by Zouk Pro, the artist chose to celebrate his three decades on stage by revisiting the songs that marked his journey. It was a choice marked by nostalgia and sharing, as the audience rediscovered long-known tracks in revisited versions.
The show kicked off with “Zaza Maroroka,” followed by “Matro Be.” For over four hours, Samoëla drew from his repertoire to bring his old tracks back to life, including “Richard le Popman,” which the artist noted was released in 2004. The songs were rearranged to give them a new color while preserving their original identity.
Beyond the duration of the show, the evening illustrated Samoëla’s ability to unite his audience around familiar songs. The spectators sang along with the artist, confirming a loyalty that shows no signs of fading after three decades.
On stage, Samoëla was accompanied by several musicians, with a three-level scenography that added depth to the performance. Samoëla’s artistic journey began in 1995, with his first show in February 1996. Antsahamanitra holds a special place in his history, as the August 30 event marked his eighth show at this venue in 30 years.
The celebration of Samoëla’s 30-year career does not end at Antsahamanitra. After this event in Madagascar, the artist will continue the festivities in Europe in September, before embarking on a tour of 17 cities across the Great Island at the end of the month. The celebrations will span nearly two years, allowing the artist to extend these reunions with his public before opening a new chapter in his career in 2027.
