HIGHER EDUCATION – Anti-corruption efforts to be integrated into Master’s degree curriculum at the University of Antananarivo

The fight against corruption may soon enter the classrooms of the University of Antananarivo. The Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (Bianco) plans to integrate a course dedicated to anti-corruption into the Master’s degree curriculum to raise awareness among students about integrity and ethical principles before they enter the professional world.

This initiative is part of a partnership between Bianco and the University of Antananarivo. A sharing and awareness session was held on August 27 at Ankatso, aimed at strengthening prevention and anti-corruption education among young people.

Furthermore, in addition to this fifth-year curriculum, an anti-corruption structure is expected to be established within the university soon. Its purpose will be to reinforce awareness-raising actions and promote a culture of integrity among students.

According to the University of Antananarivo, the stated goal is to act proactively by providing future graduates with the necessary tools and benchmarks to adopt responsible behaviors in their future professional lives. For Bianco, the university serves as a strategic space to make prevention a key lever in the fight against corruption.

The meeting was led by the General Coordinator to the Presidency of the University of Antananarivo, Professor Tojonirina Andriambinintsoa Ranaivoson, alongside Bianco representatives Soloherilala Raharinoro and Noeline Rasoloarijaona, who are in charge of education and communication, respectively.

Through this collaboration, the University of Antananarivo also intends to strengthen its role in the training and education of young people, extending beyond mere academic skills.
