National Life: A structure with a Board of Directors, a technical committee, and an advisory group to steer the National Consultation

The Council of Christian Churches in Madagascar (FFKM) presented on Tuesday at the Voara village in Andohatapenaka the architecture established to lead the national consultation. The mechanism is based on a 13-member Board of Directors, a technical committee, and a 16-person advisory group.

The four church leaders who are members of the FFKM are at the top of this structure, which is tasked with working alongside the religious institution to implement the national consultation, according to Monseigneur Samoela Jaona Ranarivelo, the current president of the FFKM. The Board of Directors brings together 13 members, notably from religious and political circles, and serves as one of the bodies responsible for supporting the consultation process.

The operational management of the initiative falls to the technical committee, led by Joseph Amade, who has been appointed as general coordinator. He is assisted by three national coordinators, respectively in charge of institutional relations, administration and finance, and operations and exploitation. An advisory group completes the structure, comprising 16 members, eight of whom are appointed by the church leaders and eight by the central management of the FFKM.

During the presentation of the structure, Joseph Amade emphasized the inclusive nature that the officials wish to give to the process. He assured that Malagasy people, whether residing in Madagascar or abroad, will be able to participate in the national consultation. The general coordinator also affirmed that the structure intends to remain neutral regarding various political trends and to act in the name of the national interest.

Joseph Amade acknowledges that the initiative raises questions. “I admit that this is a common discourse and that there are many doubts today,” he confided. However, he assured that he intends to steer the ship to a successful conclusion. “We will not ask for your trust, because trust is not requested, it is proven through actions,” he declared, while announcing the publication of reports that he intends to be “clear.”
