AMBOHIMANGA MURDERS – The State promises to accelerate the investigation

Rapid results. This is what the State, through Prime Minister Mamtiana Rajaonarison, “promises” regarding the investigation into the alleged murder of two young girls whose bodies were found in Ambohimanga on Sunday, according to a statement published by the Presidency of the Republic yesterday.

Responding to the press after the opening ceremony of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly at Tsimbazaza yesterday, the head of government stated: “The anti-kidnapping operational center is still active. The investigation is ongoing. Let us await the results of the investigation.”

The statement from the Presidency echoes the condolences offered to the families of the two girls by the Head of State, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, who was accompanied by his wife and members of the government in Manjakaray yesterday. The missive affirms the state’s commitment to ensuring that those responsible for this tragedy are apprehended and brought to justice quickly.

The State has announced measures to accelerate the investigation into the deaths of the two young girls in Ambohimanga. Authorities assure that they intend to shed full light on this case, which has sparked intense public emotion. The disappearance of the two victims was reported by their families on August 21. Their lifeless bodies were discovered in a ravine on Sunday. They reportedly suffered particularly brutal violence, with signs of lacerations caused by a sharp object around the throat.
