The implementation of the viaduct project in Anosizato is progressing steadily. Construction and site security measures include the installation of fencing around the bridge. As the transport of materials is already underway, securing the site is essential. “A bridge will be built on the other side, so it is imperative to protect the site, hence the need to fence off the bridge. Several steps must be followed for the completion of the work. As long as the new bridge is not finished, the existing bridge cannot be demolished. The company is carrying out numerous tasks simultaneously. A detour will also be set up to allow construction machinery to pass under the bridge,” explained the technician in charge of the site.
In parallel, the company is preparing to demolish the affected buildings, particularly those whose owners have already been compensated. These owners have one month after receiving the funds to vacate. After this period, the company will proceed with the demolition.
“The actual demolition will only take place after the end of the month. It is essential to consider the humanitarian aspect, but the project cannot wait. Owners have been authorized to recover any construction materials they may still need,” the statement specified.
The Ministry of Public Works is closely monitoring the progress of the work (standards and quality). The deadlines set for the completion of the project must be strictly respected.
