The FJKM (Fiangonan’i Jesoa Kristy eto Madagasikara) celebrated its 58th anniversary yesterday, coinciding with the launch of a national retraining program for its 1,300 pastors. This dual event was marked by faith and commitment.
Religious services were held across seven national centers hosting the pastoral training. In Canada, a service was also held at the FJKM Ottawa parish. In his message, the FJKM President, Reverend Zaka Harimasy Andriamampianina, reflected on the church’s history, which began on August 18, 1968, following the merger of three Protestant missions: the London Missionary Society (LMS), the French Protestant Mission (MPF), and the Friends Foreign Mission Association (FFMA).
In Antananarivo, a service took place at FJKM Ifaliarivo Ambanidia, led by trainee pastor Fidelice Razafimanantsoa, who emphasized the church’s 58 years of faith, unity, and hope. Currently, the community has six million members.
The current president, elected in 2025 in Tolagnaro, will lead the community until 2029. The church’s slogan for the next four years is inspired by 1 Corinthians 15:58b: “Always work better in the service of the Lord.”
