Currently in a creative residency at the Institut français de Madagascar (IFM), poet and performer Geraldi Antonello Tilahimena, known as Tagman NamgaT, is collaborating with Mamy Ralijaona on the writing and directing of a new humorous one-man show, scheduled to premiere in March 2027.
For Tagman, this residency is a crucial step in preparing for the stage. Drawing on his extensive experience as a slam poet and director, he aims to build a structured and thoughtful comedic universe. A prominent figure in the Malagasy slam scene and the 2016 national champion, Tagman has a rich background in performance arts, including his 2023 production ‘La Pomme’, which addressed the social inclusion of people with disabilities.
His artistic journey extends beyond Madagascar, having represented the country at the Slam Poetry World Cup in Paris and various international events in Europe and the Indian Ocean region. In 2023, he was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Arts, Letters, and Culture. As an author of two poetry collections, ‘Love Stérile’ (2021) and ‘Si vis pacem amorem para’ (2025), he continues to explore themes of human relationships, now bringing his expertise to the ‘One Mamy Show’.
