National Championship: Ngotia Martinez and Tovonirina remain untouchable

The Madagascar Junior and Veteran Championship concluded on Sunday at the ACSA Ambohidahy courts. Held from August 1st to 9th, the event brought together the best young players across various age categories.

The U18 category was the most anticipated. In the girls’ division, Ngotia Martinez caused a sensation by clinching the title against Mirindra Razafinarivo, while Chrystella Raharinjanahary and Aina Victoria Rakotoninaly rounded out the final four. In the boys’ division, the final saw Tovonirina emerge victorious over Sandy Tahinjanahary, both having outperformed Jessé Napoke and Ny Avo Razafindrazaka respectively in the semi-finals.

In the U12 girls’ category, Faratiana Razafiarisoa confirmed her form by winning the final against Miadana Razakatiana. Both finalists had already made an impression during the recent national championship. Areyanna Raharinsoy and Fanjambolatiana Fenoherintsoa reached the semi-finals. In the boys’ category, Ambinina Razafindrazaka won the U12 title ahead of Théodore Hadgeslkamp.

In the U14 girls’ category, Onintsoa Ramanampanoharana secured victory in the final against Areyanna Raharinosy. In the U14 boys’ category, Moïse Rafanoharantsoa dominated Iloy Rasoarahona in the final.

Beyond the results, this championship represents an important step in the detection and progression of young talent. The regularity of national competitions should allow this new generation to accumulate experience and gradually move closer to the international level.
