The Malagasy Football Federation (FMF) has kicked off the first phase of this year’s national second division championship. Six sites spread across different regions of Madagascar will host this tournament, which serves as a gateway to the Pure Play Football League.
In the North, regional league champions will gather in Antalaha. For the West zone, matches for this first phase will be held in Mahajanga. Tsiroanomandidy and Antsirabe will host the matches for the Central zone. Finally, Ambatondrazaka will host for the East, and Ihosy for the South.
This first phase takes place from August 5th to 15th. Only two of the teams competing in this D2 national championship, also known as the Champions League, will advance to the elite championship, the Pure Play Football League, for the next season.
