TRAFFIC – Traffic flows smoothly in Anosizato

Traffic in Anosizato was fluid on the eve of the start of the flyover construction work. Today is expected to be busier.

Traffic in Anosizato yesterday was not as disrupted as everyone feared. Vehicles moved without major blockages. “We just passed through there and the traffic was quite fluid, contrary to what we thought,” said Antoine Rafidimanana, a motorist living in Ampitatafika.

“It’s even smoother than usual,” noted road user Karl Tolojanahary. Laza Ratinarisoa, a suburban bus dispatcher in Anosizato-Ouest, observed no major changes in traffic flow, noting that congestion remained at daily levels.

The Ministry of Public Works announced that the road section between Anosipatrana junction and Anosizato bridge will be completely closed to all vehicles from Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 9:00 PM to Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 4:00 AM. Heavy goods vehicles are prohibited from accessing the area from July 30 at 1:00 AM to August 1 at 10:00 AM. Mandatory detour routes have been established for major national roads (RN4, RN7, RN1) to bypass the construction zone.

Despite expected slowdowns, users remain patient, acknowledging that the two-year construction project is necessary to permanently decongest traffic in this area.
