Users of the RN 58 A, between Ampasika and Anosizato, will need to adjust their routes from this evening until Saturday morning. The section between the Anosipatrana junction (PK 3+900) and the Anosizato bridge (PK 3+000) will be completely closed to traffic from Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 9:00 PM until Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 4:00 AM, the Ministry of Public Works announced yesterday.
This measure is being taken in connection with the official launch ceremony for the construction of the Anosizato fly-over, scheduled for the afternoon of July 31.
A detour will be set up to maintain traffic flow. Vehicles coming from Ampasika will be able to use the route passing through Anosipatrana, Anosibe, and Anosizato-Atsinanana to reach Anosizato.
The Ministry of Public Works also announced a temporary traffic interruption on the section connecting the Shell station at Fasan’ny Karana (PK 1+300) to the Anosizato roundabout (PK 3+000) throughout the day on July 31. However, traffic will remain open in the direction of the Anosizato roundabout to Ankadimbahoaka, and the RN1 will remain fully accessible.
Traffic regulation will also be provided by the relevant authorities at the Anosizato roundabout starting this Thursday at 10:30 AM.
Commuters are already fearing significant delays on this axis. “This route is already regularly saturated under normal conditions. With the complete closure of one section and the partial closure of another, the situation risks being particularly critical, especially since the priority passage of official convoys could exacerbate the blockages,” lamented Aina Rakotoaritsifa, a motorist.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, these exceptional regulation and temporary closure measures are intended to ensure the safety of users and the smooth running of the event.
