A traffic accident involving nine candidates from Antsirabe, who were on their way to their examination center in Miandrivazo, was reported on Monday. This accident disrupted the progress of the exams for the affected candidates, some of whom sustained injuries.
Despite the situation, some candidates will ultimately be able to continue their participation in the baccalaureate. They have been authorized to take the philosophy exam scheduled for this Friday. Special arrangements will be made to allow them to take the test under conditions adapted to their situation. “A different subject will be proposed to them to take into account their particular situation,” an authorized source indicated yesterday.
The other five candidates involved in the accident will not be able to continue the exams this year, as their health condition does not yet allow them to resume. They will have to repeat the year.
This decision allows candidates whose health permits to continue their academic journey, while others will have to wait for a future session to retake the exams. Meanwhile, security measures for the exams remain reinforced. Professor Angelo Raherinirina reiterated that the “zero tolerance” principle is applied to all infractions. “We are working to sanitize the exams to ensure credible diplomas and promote merit,” he emphasized.
