Vero Razanamparany, founder of ValorLink; Zina Raminosona, project leader of ICP; and Avotriniaina Andriambelozaka, founder of Sebio, are the three Malagasy winners of the ClimateLaunchpad national final held on Friday in Antaninarenina. They will represent Madagascar at the regional final of this major international competition dedicated to green innovations and sustainable technologies. Qualifying would open the doors to the global final scheduled for October in Singapore.
Vero Razanamparany took first place and a check for 5 million ariary with ValorLink, an integrated solution combining traceability, regulatory compliance, natural fertilizer production, and electricity generation for agro-industrial companies. “I am honored to represent Madagascar and will prepare as best I can for the regional and international competition,” the winner said. Zina Raminosona took second place with a prize of 2.5 million ariary, while Avotriniaina Andriambelozaka finished third and received a check for 1.5 million ariary.
This first edition of ClimateLaunchpad in Madagascar is led by Miarakap as the national lead, as part of the Arche project dedicated to strengthening adaptation and resilience to climate change. Out of 47 applications received, ten projects were selected for the final, nine of which presented their projects in English before the jury. The competing innovations covered areas including the circular economy, clean energy, agritech, water access, and Femtech.
“We were impressed by the diversity of profiles and expertise of the participants, who came from different regions of Madagascar,” acknowledged Layticia Rasidimanana, Consulting Manager at Miarakap. According to her, “the three winners have real potential to defend the country’s colors on the international stage.” The jury evaluated the innovative nature of the projects, their environmental and social impact, and the entrepreneurs’ ability to implement them.
