SAILING – MADAGASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP – Locals dominate

A clean sweep for the host league. Representatives from the Diana league brilliantly dominated the Madagascar kiteboarding and windsurfing championships. The national summit took place in Sakalava Bay, Antsiranana, this weekend.

In the kiteboarding events, Angelo Frangelin, from the Kitesurf School in Madagascar, won the title in the boys’ over-19 category. The U19 crown was claimed by Luciano Rakotonirina, from the Sergio Kite School Diana, while the U15 title went to Marcel Zanakoto, from Surf Wind Diana. On the girls’ side, Gracia Minasoa, from Kite Paradise Diana, dominated the U19 category, and the over-19 title was secured by Sandra Anjarasoa.

In the windsurf slalom events, Maël Cadoret finished ahead of Steven Sylvestre Miranjara, both representing the host league. The Malagasy Sailing Federation will soon announce the names of the Malagasy representatives, one boy and one girl, selected for the U19 World Championship, which will take place from December 10 to 19 in Portugal. Madagascar is entered only in kiteboarding out of the seven events on the program.
