TSIMBAZAZA – Charred body found in a thicket

A charred body was discovered yesterday morning in a bamboo thicket, not far from the entrance of the Tsimbazaza Zoological and Botanical Park. According to gathered information, the victim is a man in his forties whose identity remains unknown. His body was severely burned, and his eyes were missing, presumably consumed by the flames.

Initial findings suggest that the victim may have succumbed after getting too close to a fire he had lit himself to keep warm. A security guard, alerted by flames and smoke, discovered the body in the vegetation.

The deceased was known to local residents as a marginalized man suffering from mental health issues, often seen in the Tsimbazaza, Mahamasina, and Anosy neighborhoods. He had dreadlocks and walked with a slight limp.

Agents from the Municipal Hygiene Bureau transported the body in a van to the morgue of the Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona Hospital. The Criminal Brigade has opened an investigation, in accordance with standard procedures for human fatalities.
