Violinist Ravo Raboanarison will reconnect with his audience on July 21 at the Cité des Cultures in Antaninarenina for a duo concert with pianist Antsa Ratsimba. Organized by Madagascar Mozarteum, this free event is part of the association’s mission to democratize classical music and make it accessible to everyone.
Ravo Raboanarison’s journey reflects a passion nurtured with perseverance from a very young age. He discovered the violin at age 8 under Professor Davida Randrianarivelo, before continuing his training from age 9 to 12 at the German-Malagasy Center (CGM) in Analakely, under the guidance of Casimir Rakotoniaina.
Subsequently, he continued his learning largely as an autodidact, while benefiting from the advice and support of his mentors, notably Manjato Andriamanjato and Henintsoa Tsiory Rabarijaona, who contributed to his artistic evolution.
Thanks to Madagascar Mozarteum and the initiative of José Bronfman, he later participated in numerous master classes led by international violinists and educators from Switzerland, France, and Poland. These encounters deeply enriched his musical path and opened doors for regular collaborations with the Regional Radiation Orchestra (ORR) of La Réunion.
Although he did not follow a curriculum in a major international conservatory, Ravo Raboanarison has always cultivated a deep passion for his instrument. Convinced that discipline, curiosity, and perseverance allow one to push boundaries, he has built his artistic career from Madagascar, with a constant desire to progress while remaining faithful to his own musical identity. “With the resources we have, it is possible to reach a high artistic level without trying to imitate, but by developing one’s own voice,” he asserts.
Today, the violinist performs regularly in various musical ensembles in Madagascar, including duos, trios, quartets, and chamber orchestras. He also participates in sacred music concerts, accompanying choirs during masses and other musical events.
