Airtel Madagascar has become the first operator in the country to test Direct-to-Cell technology in partnership with SpaceX. This innovation allows a 4G smartphone to communicate directly with a satellite when it is out of range of a terrestrial mobile network. On this occasion, the first WhatsApp video call via Direct-to-Cell in Madagascar was successfully established.
