A joint mission from the United Nations and the African Union is visiting the country from July 12 to July 19, 2026, to assess and strengthen international support for the “Refoundation” process initiated by the authorities. The mission is led by Mohamed Idriss Farah, Special Envoy of the African Union Commission for Madagascar, and Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, Special Representative of the UN.
