Pety Rakotoniaina, the elected deputy for Ikalamavony, stated this week that there is no need to rush into elections. We appear to be heading toward a “teteza-mitatra” (extended transition). For the moment, the national consultation expected to lead to institutional reforms, as well as the organization of a constitutional referendum in March 2027 and a presidential election, remains in discussion.
