Madagascan karate is in the spotlight. A key figure in Shotokan Karate-do in Madagascar, Hanshi Rajaonarison Andriamiarinarivo has just been selected for the evaluation of the prestigious 8th Dan (Hanshi) grade by the International Karate Spirit – Samurai Kabudo Federation (IKSSKF), an organization led by Grandmaster Minh Nguyen (10th Dan Hanshi).
This international distinction recognizes more than half a century of practice, teaching, and commitment to the service of karate and Budo. Already holding the 7th Dan, awarded by the Madagascar Karate Federation, Hanshi Rajaonarison has established himself as one of the primary architects of the development of Shotokan on the Great Island. His journey is also marked by solid experience in aikido and several traditional Japanese schools.
This award acknowledges his dedication to transmitting martial values, training young practitioners, and promoting Madagascan karate far beyond national borders.
Hanshi Rajaonarison’s selection for this evaluation is a true source of pride for Madagascar. It confirms the growing recognition of Madagascan expertise in the world of martial arts and illustrates the international influence acquired by several of its masters.
While awaiting the final evaluation, the Madagascan karate community is rallying behind its representative, with the hope of seeing a new, prestigious chapter written in the history of the discipline.
