The first day of the examination for the BEPC diploma and the entrance exam for the 10th grade (seconde) in Mahajanga proceeded without any particular incidents. This year, an 8.34% increase in the number of candidates was recorded in the Boeny region, totaling 11,131 candidates. Among these, 3,853 are in the Mahajanga I district, with 2,533 candidates registered for Option A. Nine examination centers are hosting the sessions in the city of Mahajanga.
Unlike the CEPE examination, there was less commotion in front of the examination centers. Candidates were accompanied only as far as the gates, after which parents or relatives returned home. During the CEPE session, large crowds and a picnic-like atmosphere were observed outside these sites throughout the day.
Yesterday, the weather was also unpredictable, with gloomy and cold conditions. This forced everyone to depart and only return at the time of dismissal.
Security instructions were reiterated, including the prohibition of using mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, and any other communication devices during the exam.
The Head of the Cisco (School District) for Mahajanga I, Jocelyn Elson, stated that the results will be published on Saturday, July 18th. “Grading will begin next Thursday. The goal this year is to publish the results for both the BEPC diploma and the 10th-grade entrance exam simultaneously,” explained the Cisco head.
The youngest candidate in the Boeny region is nine years old and is enrolled at the FJKM Ziona Vaovao High School in Mangarivotra, while the oldest candidate is fifty-six.
