The title regulars have confirmed their status. The second stage of the Madagascar Beach Volleyball Cup concluded on Sunday after three days of marathon competition on the beach in front of the Be Hospital in Toamasina. Multiple champion Jean Antonio Ranaivoniaina, alias Kem’s, this time partnered with Cosfa attacker Willot Rakotoarison, took the men’s trophy. In the final, they defeated the Gendarmerie Nationale duo, Julio Andriafaramanana—winner of the first stage in Ambohimanga Rova alongside his older brother Odilon—and vice-champion Odilon, in straight sets (21-13, 21-10).
In the semi-finals, Kem’s and his partner eliminated the duo Kevin and Marino 2-0 (21-14, 21-16), while Julio and Odilon knocked out Thierry and Bradley 2-1 (21-14, 13-21, 15-9). The victory in the third-place classification match went to Thierry and Brad. On the women’s side, the first-stage winning team, consisting of Julienne Obedah and Marina Ali, confirmed their supremacy by defeating the pair Lilie and Rojo in the final with 2 sets to 0 (21-13, 21-16). The champion team had previously defeated Jessie and Emma 2-0 (21-10, 21-13) in the semi-finals, a rematch of the Round I final. Lilie’s team, for their part, disposed of Stéphanie and Mino 2-0 (21-19, 21-12). This second round of the national cup saw the participation of twenty-four teams.
