VEHICLE REGISTRATION – Twenty thousand vehicles registered annually

Vehicle Registration Centers (CIM) manage a significant volume of vehicles. Approximately 20,000 to 25,000 vehicles are registered nationwide each year, according to Mieja Andriamparanony, Director of Support and Coordination. This announcement was made yesterday at the Hotel Colbert during the national launch of the ‘Information on the Administrative Situation of Vehicles’ (iSAVa) platform, a project developed in collaboration with the Digital Governance Unit (UGD) and supported by the Prodigy project, which is funded by the World Bank.

This platform enables vehicle owners to easily access administrative information regarding their vehicles, verify their administrative status, and benefit from a more transparent, faster, and more secure service. “This platform allows for tracking vehicles that are subject to a lien or an opposition. In the event of an attempted change of ownership or vehicle registration transfer under these conditions, the system automatically blocks the operation. Regulating the administrative situation and lifting the encumbrances are mandatory before any new transfer process can take place,” he added.

Following a successful pilot test in Fianarantsoa, the platform has been progressively deployed in Antsiranana, Mahajanga, Toamasina, Toliara, and Antananarivo, and is now being extended across the entire country.

This initiative specifically aims to support the goal of reaching over 76,730 active users by the end of June 2026, while strengthening public trust in the digital solutions developed by the State.
