Kick-off today. Toamasina is hosting the second and final stage of the Madagascar Beach Volleyball Cup. As usual, the matches will take place on the beach opposite the hospital, from this Friday through Sunday. Twenty-three teams, including twelve men’s and eleven women’s squads, are set to compete in this decisive second and final stage of the national beach volleyball championship.
The group stages will be played this Friday. The final knockout matches will continue on Saturday before the quarter-finals. The semi-finals, the third-place matches, and the finals will be held on Sunday. At the end of this second stage, the cumulative ranking will determine the national champions of the 2026 season.
Victory in Round I, held at Tanàna Soa in Ambohimanga Rova at the end of May, was secured by the Gendarme duo, brothers Waltinio and Julio Andriafaramanana, in the men’s senior category. Due to Waltinio’s unavailability, Julio will play with his other brother, Odilon. The latter, alongside another brother, Gatien, had lost in the final of the first stage. The pair Ali Marina-Eliema, meanwhile, claimed the title in the women’s category. They will be in contention during this decisive stage of the national summit.
