JIRAMA – New Mandroseza station connected to the network

The connection of the new Mandroseza water treatment plant to the existing JIRAMA infrastructure was completed this Monday, November 2nd. This operation affects a large part of the Antananarivo metropolitan area, where the restoration of water supply is eagerly awaited following extensive work on the facilities. The connection between the new station and the distribution network is now complete.

However, the resumption of supply will not be immediate. According to JIRAMA, the scale of the work carried out requires additional time before water returns to the pipes supplying the various neighborhoods.

The disruptions affect both the city center and peripheral sectors. Several neighborhoods in the capital, including Ambohijatovo, Faravohitra, Antaninarenina, Behoririka, Andravoahangy, Manjakaray, and Anjanahary, are among the areas served by this network. Other sectors, such as Mahamasina, Ambanidia, Ambohipo, and the Haute Ville, are also affected. Furthermore, the supply extends to several surrounding municipalities, notably Alasora, Tanjombato, Andoharanofotsy, and Ankaraobato. Parts of the surrounding localities also depend on these facilities.

The completion of the connection marks a milestone in the work carried out at Mandroseza. Now, the focus remains on the effective return of water to households. For the affected residents, the announced timeline for the resumption of distribution remains a critical concern, as a regular supply is essential for daily household needs.
