REUNION – Yzit captivates the Palais des Sports

The reunion lived up to expectations. After several years of relative absence from the Malagasy stage, Yzit made a remarkable comeback yesterday before a large crowd at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina. The sold-out event marked the conclusion of the anniversary festivities for Marion, who shared the stage with his musical brother-in-arms for a concert filled with nostalgia and energy.

Yzit’s arrival was a highlight of the evening. The audience showed their enthusiasm as soon as he stepped on stage, with many fans dressed in white and waving national flags. A multi-generational crowd, with a significant presence of young people, sang along to his hits in a lively atmosphere.

The repertoire featured iconic tracks from both artists. Yzit performed classics such as “Aza avelanao,” “Ahetseo,” “Tsy misy ny anjara tsy ifakaita,” and “Fo mijaly.” Marion performed his own popular songs, including “Ay tianao,” “Aza miherika,” and “Hitady anao.” Their musical chemistry was also evident during “Tsy hangina,” performed with Tiavina, and “Tongue Nat,” which kept the energy high throughout the venue.

This concert also served as the culmination of Marion’s 20-year career celebration. To mark the milestone, he invited Yzit, with whom he shares a long-standing musical bond. The four-hour show featured around fifty songs, with Yzit performing several tracks, including their collaborative repertoire.

Beyond the reunion, the concert reflected on Marion’s journey since his debut in Analamahitsy. Two decades of career have been marked by both successes and challenges. The singer recalled the early days when public reception was sometimes reserved, leading him to question his musical future. Determined to prove himself, he persevered to reach this anniversary celebration.

The show was structured into several musical sequences: Marion’s older songs, a musical theater segment, love and wedding songs, and his most recent hits. Live performances, complemented by DJ sets for transitions, rounded out the program.
