ELECTRICITY – Jirama announces four-hour power cuts in western Antananarivo and Itaosy

Jirama has announced another power cut affecting numerous neighborhoods in Itaosy this Sunday afternoon. The same applies to the western districts of Antananarivo, spanning from parts of Antaninarenina to Ampasika, including Ampefiloha, Andavamamba, Isotry, Andohatapenaka, and the 67ha area. The interruption is scheduled to last from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Jirama explains that the outage is necessary for maintenance work to replace a faulty cable head at the Tana-Ouest substation.

According to Jirama, these works are being carried out to “prevent repetitive power cuts caused by the degradation of this cable head.” To ensure the safety of technicians, power lines 16, 17, 18, and the medium-voltage line connected to the Tana-Ouest substation will be disconnected during the four-hour maintenance period.

Power supply is expected to resume after the work is completed, starting from 4:00 PM, provided the intervention proceeds as planned. Jirama requests the understanding of its subscribers during this period of scheduled power cuts.
