Despite a very slight improvement on paper, Madagascar remains stuck in the depths of the global rankings. In the 2026 Rule of Law Index by the World Justice Project (WJP), the Great Island ranks 111th out of 143 countries, painfully gaining one spot compared to 2025, when it held the 112th position.
