On Tuesday, police intervened at a location in Ambatondrazaka known as a gathering point for young cannabis users. The operation was conducted following information provided by a citizen.
Ten students were arrested on the spot, some still wearing their school uniforms. The group consists of eight girls and two boys, aged between 14 and 20.
During the search conducted in the afternoon, officers discovered a bag on the ground containing a substance suspected to be cannabis. They are currently working to determine its owner and identify the source of the product.
An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident and the responsibilities of each individual. The Ambatondrazaka police stated that they are strengthening their efforts to prevent drug use among young people.
They also urge parents to monitor their children’s social circles, outings, and return times. According to the police, cooperation between families and law enforcement is essential to prevent the consumption and circulation of narcotics among the youth.
