Worship at Iavoloha: Colonel Randrianirina calls for prayers for the nation

The Head of State has invited the population to intensify their prayers for the country and to maintain faith in God. During a worship service at Iavoloha yesterday, he emphasized the power of faith in the face of the difficulties the nation is currently experiencing.

Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, the Head of State, called on citizens to pray for the nation. During a service held at the Iavoloha State Palace chapel, he described a “concerning national situation.” He placed his remarks in the context of the first anniversary of his swearing-in on October 17. The President of the Refoundation reflected on the events of September and October 2025, which he described as a particularly grueling period of struggle. He also alluded to occult practices aimed, according to his statements, at “causing the fall of his power.”

According to the Head of State, “the struggle was not just in the streets; it was also spiritual. There were those who prayed for the country, while others resorted to traditional practitioners in the hope of influencing the outcome of the movement.” He claims that some individuals involved in these practices are currently resorting to them again.

He maintains that these individuals “are not far away,” specifying that “most are people who work with me, people I see regularly.” Without naming names, Colonel Randrianirina added that his speech, shared on social media, would allow those concerned to understand that he is aware of their alleged actions.

To illustrate his concerns, the President cited several facts he considers signs of the difficulties the country is facing again. Referring to cases of kidnappings followed by the discovery of lifeless bodies in July and August, some of which were allegedly linked to sacrificial rites, he stated: “Since they did not achieve their goals, they are trying something else.”

“If you notice, traffic accidents have been numerous in recent days. Many Malagasy people are dying in these accidents. The same applies to the fires that have broken out in a short period,” the Head of State added. The senior officer also mentioned the health status of several soldiers in charge of his security, noting that some have fallen ill and are still in the hospital. He indicated that he had asked them to pray, believing that the practices directed against him were affecting those around him rather than himself, due to the strength of his faith.

In conclusion, Michaël Randrianirina reaffirmed his conviction that the future of his power depends ultimately on divine will. “If God wants this power to fall, it will fall, but if He does not want it to, it will not fall, even if an entire army of traditional practitioners is mobilized,” he asserted.
