Six men have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the death of a man who was stabbed in Anosizato Andrefana on the night of Wednesday, September 30. They are currently being held in pre-trial detention at the Tsiafahy central prison. According to investigators, some of the suspects were close to the victim. The incident reportedly began with a night of heavy drinking among friends, which escalated into an argument. It is therefore a case linked to a personal dispute rather than an issue of insecurity or organized criminal activity.
The victim was a young man in his twenties and a fan of metal music. He was stabbed in the throat and was found around 11 p.m. lying in a pool of blood in an isolated area. Despite emergency efforts, he did not survive his injuries. Alerted, the gendarmes on duty in Anosizato arrived at the scene with a doctor. Forensic examinations were conducted after the body had already been transported to the victim’s home. Investigations began immediately.
“The events began with an evening among friends at a drinking establishment, which continued with a dispute. After they parted ways, the man was followed to an isolated spot where he was ultimately fatally stabbed. A first arrest took place on the very morning of the death. The suspect apprehended then reportedly allowed investigators to track down his companions. In total, six people are implicated. They were all with the victim during the evening. Three of them were notably close friends of the young man,” the gendarmerie explained.
The young man’s death has sparked deep emotion among metal music fans. Many of them gathered along the Anosizato road last Sunday for his funeral.
