Ten months after the murder of a taxi driver in Alasora, six individuals have been arrested by the police. They are suspected of participating in the driver’s murder and the theft of his vehicle. The suspects include a couple and four men.
The police investigation revealed that the six individuals allegedly participated in the murder, acted in concert, and some were involved in purchasing stolen goods. It is worth noting that another man had already been detained in connection with this case. Investigations into the recently arrested individuals are ongoing, and the results will be forwarded to the judicial authorities.
The case caused significant public outcry at the end of 2025 following the gruesome discovery of a 36-year-old man’s body in Miadana, Alasora. The victim, a taxi driver, had been missing for several days and was the subject of a search. His body was found inside a plastic bin before being hidden in a toilet pit.
Ten days after the body was discovered, officers from the Alasora police station arrested a man suspected of involvement in the murder. During his interrogation, he named another individual who was allegedly with him at the time of the crime and participated in the killing. The police then launched a manhunt.
After several months of searching, the suspect was finally located and arrested by Alasora police officers in Zafimbazaha.
“The investigation subsequently established that the man’s wife also participated in concealing the body in the toilet pit. She was subsequently arrested. During her interrogation, other individuals suspected of involvement were named, leading to further arrests. According to an investigation official, one of the suspects struck the taxi driver on the head with a large stone. Two others allegedly sold the vehicle’s metal parts to a scrap dealer, while another purchased the vehicle,” explained an investigation official.
