AMPASIKA – Four people apprehended for the murder of a sexagenarian

Four people, including two women, have been arrested on suspicion of murdering an Indian national, aged approximately 70, in Ampasika on September 28. Two other individuals, also suspected of involvement in the murder, remain at large.

“The alleged perpetrators of the crime are two domestic workers. Two previous attempts to assassinate their employer had already failed. This time, the housekeepers contacted the husband of one of them and the family mechanic to help them finish the dirty work. During the two previous attempts, they had put poison in the victim’s food. They decided to recruit three other people to help them commit the murder on September 28. The victim was murdered by asphyxiation. Her hands and legs were tied, her mouth and ears gagged, and her body was then hidden under a bed,” explained the head of the judicial police, Jimmy Clarion Raharinasy.

The motive for the crime is reportedly linked to a loan request made by one of the housekeepers, which the employer had refused. Greed for the employer’s wealth is also cited as a potential motive.

The suspects allegedly stole gold jewelry and cash before fleeing. However, judicial police officers quickly managed to track them down. The four suspects were brought before the public prosecutor yesterday.
