Both students from the Marovasa Public Primary School (EPP) who sat for the Primary School Certificate (CEPE) exam passed this year. This result was achieved in a school with twenty-two students and two teachers, located in Anjajavy, in the Sofia region. The institution has been receiving support from ViMa NGO for the past two years, specifically regarding school supplies and the coverage of certain teacher allowances.
For the 2025-2026 school year, this support aims to ensure the continuity of classes and improve learning conditions for students. “We support the EPP by providing several school kits for the students. We also cover certain costs related to the teachers,” explains Rinah Razafindrazaka, a representative of ViMa NGO.
Located in a village of about a hundred households, Marovasa is home to many families who live primarily from fishing. For these households, school-related expenses can be a burden. Access to supplies and consistent supervision are therefore key issues in keeping children in school.
The support also includes sports equipment. Students now have jerseys, nets, and balls to play football. ViMa NGO also addresses certain needs related to the school’s infrastructure.
The success of the two CEPE candidates is primarily due to the students’ hard work, the teachers’ commitment, and the parents’ support. However, external assistance also contributes to creating favorable conditions for schooling.
For the families of Marovasa, the stakes go beyond exam results. Continuing school should allow children to broaden their future opportunities. Maintaining stable learning conditions remains a challenge for the institution.
