MAINTAINING ORDER – The National Police brings its methods closer to the public

The National Police is committed to reforming its working methods. Living in security and peace is a fundamental right of the population, and the National Police plays a major role in this area.

“We are currently engaged in the refoundation of the country, and this concerns both working methods and mentalities, so that the actions taken have a real impact on the population. We must improve, and from now on, we will implement an approach more oriented towards the public, and improve the training of police officers so that they are true professionals and masters of their craft,” declared the Minister of Public Security, Eric Michel.

The National Police will strive to meet international security standards and increase the number of police officers on duty across the island. “The government had already agreed, in 2025, to the recruitment of five hundred police officers. Currently, the police entrance exam is underway and about one thousand people will be recruited,” continued the Minister of Public Security.

The Malagasy National Police celebrated the 65th anniversary of its creation yesterday in the courtyard of the Ministry of Public Security in Anosy. A commemorative stele and a new basketball court were inaugurated on this occasion.
