Logic prevailed. The two finalist clubs from the previous edition of the Madagascar First Division Volleyball Championship remain unbeaten on the eve of the conclusion of the group stage of the 2026 national summit. The first team of the Gendarmerie Nationale Volleyball (GNVB1), the defending champion, and its runner-up, Squad-X, both from the Analamanga league, have maintained a perfect record with three wins in as many matches.
GNVB1 secured a 3-0 victory yesterday against ASI2 at the Ankorondrano gymnasium, following their 3-2 win over Bi’as Analamanga on Saturday and AMVB Mandroseza on Monday. Meanwhile, Squad-X defeated AVBCA 3-0 yesterday, following their victories against ASI 1 (3-2) on Saturday and GNVB 2 (3-0) on Monday. In the men’s category, GNVB 2 and Akany Sambatra Itaosy 1 have also remained undefeated. The Gendarmes dominated Mama (3-2) on Sunday, CVBF (3-0) on Saturday, and Cosfa 2 (3-0) yesterday. The first team from Itaosy defeated Cosfa 1 (3-2), Akat’s (3-0), and GNVB 3 (3-2) yesterday. The group stage will conclude this Wednesday, with the quarterfinals scheduled for Thursday.
