Users of the Ampasampito Ambony and Ambany bus stations deal with the current state of the facilities on a daily basis. Serving mainly the RN2, these two stations welcome travelers and transporters in infrastructure that requires rehabilitation. “People come here to relieve themselves anywhere, and we suffer the consequences. The conditions are really difficult. This must change,” testified a user anonymously. For those who frequent the station regularly, the state of the infrastructure directly impacts the waiting conditions and the use of the site.
However, the problem is not limited to the state of the buildings. The spaces intended for travelers must also offer conditions of use adapted to daily traffic. The movement of vehicles, the waiting of passengers, and the various activities related to departures constantly strain the facilities.
A field visit was conducted at both stations by officials from the Urban Commune of Antananarivo, accompanied by the municipal police and representatives of the Ministry of Transport. The various departments concerned toured the sites to identify the infrastructure requiring intervention.
For users, the challenge remains concrete: to be able to wait and board their vehicles in a space that is maintained and adapted to the high traffic of these stations. The rehabilitation of the facilities will therefore have to address the difficulties encountered on-site daily.
