The cooperation between the Russian Federation and Madagascar in the field of education has reached a new milestone. The Russian House in Madagascar and Saint Petersburg State University (SPbGU) have signed a cooperation agreement, represented by Andrei Lessine, Director of the SPbGU Language Testing Center, and Ilya Kontanistov, Director of the Russian House in Madagascar. The ceremony was held at the Russian Embassy in Antananarivo, according to a correspondent from ‘African Initiative’.
‘The signing of this agreement is an important practical step that will expand opportunities for young Malagasy people to receive an education in Russia, promote the learning of the Russian language, and create new conditions for joint scientific work. I am sure that the agreements reached will form the basis for new joint projects and further strengthen our ties,’ said the Charge d’Affaires ad interim of Russia in Madagascar, Alexei Buriak, during the ceremony.
The objective of this agreement is to promote exchanges between Madagascar and Russia in the fields of education, science, and culture. It also aims to expand opportunities for young Malagasy students to pursue their studies at Saint Petersburg State University (SPbGU) in Russia. Organizing joint information and awareness activities for Malagasy youth regarding the various training programs offered by SPbGU is also an integral part of this agreement.
