The Unique Social Registry (RSU) is establishing itself as a major strategic tool for the management of social protection. “It currently covers nearly 2.7 million households, representing approximately thirteen million individuals,” stated Sylvestre Rajaonary, Director General of Solidarity at the Ministry of Population and Solidarity, yesterday during a strategic workshop with technical and financial partners held in Anosy.
Initially deployed in twenty districts, the system is expanding to eight new districts where surveys are currently underway. “However, the ministry is requesting support from partners to cover an additional thirteen districts,” emphasized Sylvestre Rajaonary. The workshop aims to harmonize collaboration with technical and financial partners (PTF).
“Regarding loan funds, management must strictly adhere to the priorities defined by the government rather than isolated initiatives,” the official added.
The Unique Social Registry (RSU) allows for the precise and transparent identification of the most vulnerable households. It was also emphasized that the implementation of social protection requires individual accountability and collective solidarity.
The workshop was chaired by the Minister of Population and Solidarity, Voahanginirina Cathia Rakotoniaina. On this occasion, she reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting partners in building a harmonious and effective structure, ensuring that no household is left behind in the face of hardship.
