Despite the disruptions caused by Cyclone Gezani in the Atsinanana region during the 2025-2026 school year, the Toamasina I school district achieved strong results in official examinations. The success rate for the CEPE in the 2025-2026 school year reached 78.84%, with some institutions even achieving a 100% pass rate. The Fanjiry Association, chaired by Elisa Randrianirina, First Lady of the Republic of Madagascar, has provided a boost to education in the region. Following the cyclone, the association implemented free remedial classes for students preparing for the CEPE, BEPC, and Baccalaureate exams.
On September 5, 2026, an awards ceremony was held at the Toamasina Gymnasium to honor students who achieved the best results in the recent examinations.
In addition to certificates of recognition, the deserving students received school supplies and material support to begin the new school year under better conditions. “Supporting children’s education today means building the future of Madagascar tomorrow,” stated the association.
