Madagascar has taken the helm of the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) for the period from September 2026 to August 2027. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Herinjatovo Aimé Ramiarison, has thus become the President of the Council of Ministers of this regional organization, which is committed to combating money laundering and illicit financial flows. This marks a new responsibility for the country in the regional fight against financial crime.
