The First Lady is intensifying social actions in the South and South-East regions. Following the launch of the Fanjiry association’s activities in Andemaka, Vohipeno district, on September 2, Elisa Randrianirina visited Jangany in the Betroka district the following day. The interventions primarily targeted women, children, and vulnerable individuals. In Jangany, Fanjiry opened a branch dedicated to women and launched several social activities.
The association also announced its support for the construction of a Basic Health Center Level II (CSB II). Aid consisting of thirty million ariary and seven tons of cement was provided to support the initiatives undertaken in the locality. Additionally, construction materials were distributed to families whose homes were damaged by bad weather.
Protecting vulnerable people is also a key component of these actions. Fanjiry stated that it has established a center in Ihosy to support people with albinism. In Jangany, Elisa Randrianirina called for strengthening the protection of women and children and combating the violence they may face. These actions follow the official launch of Fanjiry’s activities in Andemaka, 25 kilometers from Vohipeno. The association presented three main areas of intervention there: health, education, and livelihoods, particularly through agriculture, livestock, and entrepreneurship.
In both the South-East and the South, interventions are focused on populations facing social and economic difficulties. In Andranomavo, in the Vantana commune, aid in the form of construction materials was also provided to families affected by bad weather. This intervention complements the aid already mobilized by the authorities and the National Bureau for Risk and Disaster Management (BNGRC).
