According to the Ministry of Public Works, the replacement of the modular bridge located at PK 520+010 in Berivotra, on National Road No. 4 (RN4) in the Marovoay district, was completed last Wednesday. A new Bailey-type bridge was installed following the deterioration of the previous infrastructure.
The work lasted two days. A detour was set up for light vehicles, while truck traffic was suspended during this period. This interruption caused significant disruptions, leading to long queues of vehicles around Berivotra. Tanker trucks and heavy goods vehicles had to wait before they could resume their journey.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Public Works, in collaboration with the Boeny regional directorate and the emergency support directorate, rehabilitated the access ramp of another bridge located a few hundred meters away in Berivotra.
“The access ramp to this other bridge at PK 520+750 has also been repaired. These works will facilitate transport and traffic on the RN4, particularly for vehicles connecting the various zones along this national road,” the Ministry stated on its social media page.
