The development of road infrastructure could benefit from new international support. On September 2, in Anosy, the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana, received a delegation from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), an Indian company specializing in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Madagascar and India in this strategic sector.
This meeting comes at a time when the improvement of the road network remains essential to facilitate travel and support economic activities. Roads play a significant role in the transport of goods, access to services, and the connection between different regions.
In this perspective, the MEIL delegation has already conducted field visits to assess the realities and needs. The RN1 Bis, the Bemolanga axis, as well as the entire RN13 are among the infrastructures visited. These observations allowed the company to better understand the technical constraints related to these strategic axes.
Following these visits, MEIL expressed its interest in increased participation in the development of road infrastructure. Such involvement could facilitate the realization of large-scale projects and contribute to improving the mobility of the population.
For his part, the Minister welcomed this initiative and reaffirmed the government’s willingness to facilitate the arrival of investors capable of contributing concretely to priority projects.
